Chrysanthemum Flower Seeds

1. Prepare the Soil
Use fertile, loose and well-drained soil. A good-quality potting mixture enriched with organic matter is suitable for container growing.
2. Sow the Seeds
Scatter the seeds over the prepared soil and lightly press them into the surface. Cover with only a very thin layer of soil, as chrysanthemum seeds need suitable light and moisture conditions for germination.
3. Water Carefully
Mist or gently water the soil to keep it evenly moist. Avoid heavy watering that may wash away the small seeds or cause waterlogging.
4. Provide Adequate Light
Place the seed tray or container in a bright location. Once established, provide approximately 5–8 hours of sunlight daily, depending on local growing conditions.
5. Thin the Seedlings
When seedlings develop several true leaves, carefully thin or transplant them to provide enough room for healthy development.
6. Fertilize
Apply a balanced fertilizer periodically after the seedlings become established. Avoid excessive nitrogen, which can encourage foliage at the expense of flowering.
7. Pinch Young Plants
Lightly pinching growing tips once plants are established can encourage branching and help create a fuller plant.
8. Water Regularly
Maintain consistent soil moisture while allowing excess water to drain away. Avoid letting the soil remain continuously soggy.
9. Remove Faded Flowers
Regularly remove spent flowers to maintain a neat appearance and encourage continued flowering where appropriate.
