Sunflower Flower Seeds

1. Prepare the Soil
Select a sunny location with fertile, loose and well-drained soil. Remove weeds and loosen the soil before sowing.
2. Sow the Seeds
Sow the sunflower seeds approximately 2–3 cm deep into the soil. Cover gently with soil after sowing.
3. Maintain Proper Spacing
Provide adequate space between plants according to the variety. Larger sunflower varieties require more room for their roots and tall growth.
4. Water Regularly
Water the soil thoroughly after sowing and keep it moderately moist during germination. Avoid excessive waterlogging.
5. Provide Full Sunlight
Sunflowers perform best in a location receiving approximately 6–8 hours or more of direct sunlight daily.
6. Fertilize When Required
Use compost or a balanced fertilizer when necessary to support healthy plant growth. Avoid excessive nitrogen, which may encourage foliage at the expense of flowers.
7. Support Tall Plants
Tall sunflower varieties may benefit from staking or other support, especially in windy locations.
8. Protect Young Plants
Protect emerging seedlings from strong winds, heavy rain and garden pests until they become established.
