Carnation Flower Seeds

1. Prepare the Soil
Choose a location with good sunlight and well-drained, fertile soil. Remove weeds and loosen the soil before sowing the seeds.
2. Sow the Seeds
Sow the Carnation seeds lightly on the soil surface or at a shallow depth of approximately 0.5–1 cm. Cover gently with a thin layer of fine soil.
3. Maintain Proper Spacing
Provide adequate spacing between plants to allow good air circulation and healthy growth. Spacing requirements may vary according to the variety.
4. Water Carefully
Water gently after sowing and keep the soil consistently moist during germination. Avoid excessive watering and waterlogging.
5. Provide Sufficient Sunlight
Carnations perform best in a location receiving approximately 6 hours or more of sunlight daily. In very hot conditions, some afternoon protection may be beneficial.
6. Fertilize When Required
Add compost or a suitable balanced fertilizer when necessary to support healthy foliage and flowering. Avoid excessive fertilizer application.
7. Encourage Healthy Growth
Remove damaged or faded flowers when appropriate to maintain an attractive appearance and encourage continued flowering in suitable varieties.
8. Protect Young Plants
Protect young seedlings from heavy rain, strong winds, excessive moisture and garden pests until the plants become well established.
