Chayote Seeds

1. Sowing Method: Plant the entire sprouted fruit or large specialized seed slightly slanted, covering it with a 3–4 cm layer of soil while leaving the sprouted stem tip barely exposed.
2. Sunlight Requirements: Select an open, wide garden spot that receives a minimum of 6 hours of full, direct daily sunlight.
3. Soil Condition: Plant in deeply cultivated, loose, highly fertile sandy loam soil thoroughly mixed with fine organic compost to prevent root stagnation.
4. Vertical Trellising: Erect a tall, exceptionally strong trellis network, bower system, or wire fence early to support its heavy, rapid vertical climbing vines.
5. Harvesting Window: Pick individual gourds when they are firm, medium-sized, and light green, well before the outer skin turns hard, yellow, or overly tough.
