Cosmos Flower Seeds

1. Prepare the Soil
Select a location that receives plenty of sunlight. Prepare loose, fertile and well-drained soil by removing weeds and gently loosening the planting area.
2. Sow the Seeds
Sow the Cosmos seeds approximately 0.5–1 cm deep into the soil. Cover the seeds lightly with a thin layer of soil.
3. Maintain Proper Spacing
Provide sufficient spacing between plants to allow good air circulation and healthy growth. Avoid overcrowding the seedlings.
4. Water Regularly
Water gently after sowing and keep the soil lightly moist during germination. Once established, water according to the soil and weather conditions. Avoid excessive watering and waterlogging.
5. Provide Adequate Sunlight
Cosmos plants perform best in full sun. Provide approximately 6–8 hours of sunlight daily for healthy growth and flowering.
6. Fertilize When Required
Add compost or a suitable balanced fertilizer when necessary. Avoid excessive nitrogen fertilizer, as it can encourage excessive foliage growth and reduce flowering.
7. Provide Support When Needed
Taller Cosmos varieties may benefit from light support or staking, particularly when grown in windy locations.
8. Remove Faded Flowers
Regularly removing spent or faded flowers can help maintain a neat appearance and may encourage continued flowering under suitable conditions.
