Chinese Yam Seeds

1. Sowing Technique: Plant the seed tubers or small pieces 5–7 cm deep directly into loose, highly fertile, well-prepared soil mounds or deep ridges.
2. Sunlight Requirements: Position your cultivation beds or containers in an open space that receives a minimum of 6 hours of full, direct daily sunlight.
3. Soil Preparation: Grow in deeply tilled, well-aerated, stone-free sandy loam soil heavily mixed with compost; hard or compacted soils will obstruct downward growth and stunt the long roots.
4. Vining Support: Install a strong trellis network, net, or tall bamboo stakes early to support its rapid, high-climbing foliage and vine systems.
5. Harvesting Timing: Harvest carefully in late winter using a deep garden spade or trench fork when the creeping green leaves begin to naturally yellow, dry down, and fade.
