1. Sowing Technique: Plant the seed corms or pieces 5–7 cm deep directly into loose, highly fertile soil mounds, ensuring any prominent growing buds point upward.
2. Sunlight Requirements: Position your cultivation beds or containers in a garden spot that receives 4–6 hours of partial afternoon shade to dappled full daily sunlight.
3. Soil Preparation: Grow in deeply loosened, well-aerated sandy loam soil heavily amended with organic manure or compost to allow unrestricted tuber expansion.
4. Watering Schedule: Maintain high moisture levels around the root zone by watering deeply and regularly; do not let the soil dry out during the peak growing phase, but ensure efficient drainage.
5. Harvesting Timing: Harvest carefully using a garden spade after 7 to 8 months when the large green leaves begin to naturally yellow, dry down, and fade.
