3. Soil Condition: Plant in deeply cultivated, loose, stone-free sandy loam soil; avoid heavy, compacted clay layouts that restrict root expansion.
4. Vining Support: Install a strong trellis network, net, or stakes early to support its rapid, high-climbing foliage and shield-shaped leaves.
5. Harvesting Timing: Harvest carefully using a small garden fork in late winter when the sprawling foliage completely dries down and turns brown after the peak winter cycle.
